Useful app with actively malicious pricing system. Do not start using roomster unless you are prepared to spend a significant amount of money AND handle the hassle of cancelation. Edit: I came back to add a star because when I clicked 'unsubscribe' in an email (which was easy to find) it instantly took me to a page that said 'you have successfully unsubscribed from roomster emails', without making me answer questions or trying to change my mind.

It's a dating app. Upon signing up, I browsed a few properties, exited the app, and haven't used it since. Now it spams me several times a week that I have a message from someone -- which, of course, I can't read without subscribing to the tune of $12/wk, $30/mo, or $60/3mo. Today's message is apparently from a 28 year old female. I have 25 in total; more than one a day.

Use SpareRoom instead! Unfortunately, I have been using this pricey app off and on for 6 years since so many people use it. The visual layout is pretty good, but you get a lot of useless "broadcast" messages to filter through to get to relevant posts. Warning: They offer a 30-day subscription, not 1 months. So if you sign up July 5, cancel by August 3 to avoid being charged another month. Customer support will have no mercy if you fall for this trap. Fewer errors now than in 2017 though.
